WHEN STRESS GETS YOU DOWN...

...MAGPA-MASSAGE!

Me and my friends decided to meet last night to go to a bar, an idea that I liked because haggard ang week na 'to sa office for me, and I needed a little booze. That was initially the plan, and to meet me at Ayala Triangle Gardens after my shift (yeah, I work on weekends too).

They came from Greenbelt and had dinner at Mr. Jones and Nathan bought Neil Barrett shoes at Adora. At P13,000, medyo ang mahal.

Wala ba munang "adventures" si Dora the Explorer dahil mahal ang shoes?

I met them at around 9:45pm at Paseo in Makati and the group decided to go to Wensha instead, an idea I liked more because my new, fat body needed a rubdown. So five noisy people drove from Makati to Timog Avenue in Quezon City.

We're here! Wensha Spa is a 24 hour spa that has branches in Pasay and QC. They offer the usual spa services like body and foot massages and scrubs, plus haircuts, nail arts and facials.

Me, Nathan, JP, Toni and Mark/Karen

Here's the lounge and cashier where you pay for what service/s you want. We get the Wensha Body Massage (P680, one of the cheapest services) everytime. It includes a 6-hour stay, unlimited food and drinks and use of the steam and sauna rooms, showers, jacuzzi and lockers. You also leave your footwear here because may slippers sila for you.

Ayan, bawal daw mag-picture. Magagalit si Buddha.

Sorry if the pictures are a bit bad. Bawal talaga kasi mag-take ng photos. But I managed to get a few.

This is the staircase that brings you to the second floor, which has the Ladies' Locker and Wet Area (yung para sa guys is on the first floor) and the buffet area.

There's the area where you get your strawberry and pineapple juices and water. And the occasional ice cream. And JP managed to ruin the shot, thank you very much.

The ingredients you need for your shabu shabu.

The dining area.

Nathan gets sleepy waiting for the shabu shabu to be ready. The plate in the foreground is my own meal (lechon paksiw and togue).

I accidentally made it extra spicy. Pero that's what friends are for: kailangang ubusin dahil may left over fee!

Mark/Karen is busy. Didn't want to eat.

After the meal we went down to the wet area to get relaxed/ steamed and get showered before the massage. No pictures kasi baka ipapulis na nila ako pag nahuli ako. But the men's wet area has a hot and cold pool/jacuzzi, a dry sauna, a steam room, a few showers and a bunch of men just wearing white towels.

We then had a Swedish massage which took an hour. You will be asked kung male or female therapist ang gusto mo, and the type of oil to be used (mineral is the odorless one, ginger is the menthol-y kind). Don't go asking for cooking oil kasi wala sila non. Kaloka. :D

We enjoyed the massage except for Nathan, who was visibly agitated because there were two noisy probinsyanos in the same room that they were in. In his words: "Ay nako, muntik ko na silang sabihan ng 'Shut the f#ck up!". Galit lola mo. Then stayed a little bit sa wet area before showering and dressing up to go home.

We left Wensha refreshed and relaxed and happy (not for Nathan) and decided that we need a little nosh before going home so we decided to drop by a ChicBoy branch.

I honestly don't know the street where this is located but this is the largest ChicBoy branch I've ever seen. Karen/Mark didn't join us as he had to go home na (code for hinahanap na ng boyfriend).

They serve "Japanese" food and cocktails!

Pero as the store was closing na, the service was not that good. The food was average nga eh (do NOT order their chicken skin pulutan, ang konti). The best ChicBoy branch is still the one in Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong.

Bad food and bad service aside, it was a fun night. Went home with relaxed muscles and fatter bodies.
